Who Is Sophie Capewell?
Sophie earlier had bad luck but as of now, she made it to the winning list in the commonwealth games on the 30th of July 2022. Although Sophie was not the first to finish the race, she was happy. Sophie came in the third position and she was glad for her victory. She came third in the 500-meter trails. After getting her medal, Sophie said that her father must be proud of her. She added that it is so nice that she is able to take part in the things that are happening and that even though she is not the first to end the race, still winning a medal is a big deal. Sophie shared that her father always wanted her to go to other Commonwealth games and participate. She was grateful for the chance she was provided with.

Kristina Clonan from England and Kelsey Mitchell from Canada were the ones who came in the first two positions and who defeated Sophie. While speaking about it Sophie said that she was focusing on her game rather than just going for looking at others. Sophie said that she was looking down and she focused on her game. Speaking about her father, Nigel Goeffrey, he died last year on the 13th of October 2021. Nigel was 63 years old at the time of his death. Although the reason behind the death was not specified, it was revealed that he passed away as a result of illness and his death left a big impact on the cycling community.

Nigel was part of the Worldwide Paralympic partners. While Sophie ran in the sprint at the Berlin 2020 World Championships and there she won a bronze medal. She also participated in the 2021 World championships in Roubaix, France back in 2021. She now participated in the Commonwealth games and was chosen on behalf of England. Though she lost the bronze medal race to Emma Finucane, the next day she won the 500-m trails race. As of now, Sophie is 23 years old, born on the 4th of September, 1998. Sophie was born in the English town of Lichfield, she is 1.69 meters tall and 76 kgs(172 lbs).
